Occupational First Aid
Our Occupational & Workplace First Aid programs provide the skills to establish, maintain and facilitate the provision of first aid in a workplace environment, including advanced skills to provide an emergency first aid response in the event of an emergency. It will also provide students with information on state and federal legislations as it applies to first aid in the workplace.
You will cover the following areas:
- Basic Life Support (DRSABCD)
- CPR and AED
- Shock Management
- Airway Management – Asthma, Choking, Severe Allergic Reaction, Hyperventilation
- Anaphylaxis
- Cardiac conditions
- Diabetes
- Seizures and Convulsions
- Stroke
- Bleeding and Wound Care
- Burns and Scalds
- Emergency childbirth
- Extremes of Heat and Cold
- Musculoskeletal Injuries
- Head, neck and spinal injuries
- Poisons and Toxic Substances
- Bites and Stings
- Abdominal injuries
- Eye and ear injuries
- Needlestick injuries
- Substance misuse
